About

Harvey joined Putzel Electrical Contractors in 1977 after serving 4 years with the U.S Navy. He started as an electrician’s helper and worked his way up through the company as a Journeyman Electrician, Foreman, Superintendent, Master Electrician, General Superintendent, Project Manager, Estimator, Safety Director and Service Manger.

Putzel was acquired in April 1999 by IES and in October 2000 Harvey was transferred to the IES corporate office to assume the position of Director of Safety with the responsibility to develop and implement a company-wide safety program. In 2005 Harvey was promoted to Vice President of Safety for IES.

Harvey is an authorized OSHA construction safety instructor, a Six Sigma green belt, has completed several Dale Carnegie courses, JMW Management Leadership Training and holds Master licences for the State of Georgia and Alabama. He was Vice President and President of the Georgia chapter of the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) and is currently the Chairman of the IEC National Safety Committee.
